How to Contact Us

Our aim is to be accessible as possible and accordingly we can be contacted as follows:

  • after consultation with your own GP (we have excellent links with the local GPs and use their premises for evening sessions)

Please Note: The office is staffed for enquiries on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-4:30 pm.  At other times, please leave a message on our confidential answering service and someone will call you back during our office hours.

What happens next?

When you first contact us, it is likely that you will first join our waiting list.  An appointment will be made as soon as possible for you to have an initial interview with us.  This will give you the opportunity to find out more about the counselling we offer at Wellspring, and will enable us to ensure that the kind of help we are able to offer will meet your particular needs.  
 
Should you decide to take up the offer of help, we will arrange an appointment for you with one of our counsellors at a mutually agreed time.

How many sessions can I have?

Usually counselling sessions are contracted for one per week (lasting between 50mins and 1 hour) initially for a period of 6 weeks up to 18 weeks, but with an option to extend further in some cases.

What is the cost?

Wellspring Counselling is a registered charity which relies on client fees for its ongoing viability. Each session costs Wellspring approximately £40 to provide. To make sessions as affordable as we can for everyone, regardless of ability to pay, we operate a sliding scale of fees.

Initial Consultation
For an initial assessment session with a counsellor at Wellspring we make a non-refundable charge of £35. For those in receipt of qualifying benefits this charge is reduced to £10.

Counselling Sessions
The fee for ongoing therapy is calculated according to income. Our standard subsidised charge is £25 for people who are in employment and earning up to £30,000 per annum. For people earning between £30,000 and £45,000 the fee is £35, and above £45,000 we ask for a minimum payment of £40 for each ongoing session. For those in receipt of qualifying benefits* we may be able to offer a reduced fee of £10 per session. This is dependent on sufficient funds being available in our subsidy budget.

If you are receiving benefits and are unable to pay the minimum fee of £10 per session please discuss this with us during your initial consultation and we will do our best to help. This will be decided on an individual basis.

When and where are the counselling services available?

Counselling services are available by appointment only at following times:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6.30-9.30pm at Tower House Medical Centre, Stockway South, Nailsea
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-4.30pm at Methodist Community Church, Silver Street, Nailsea
